Marshall’s Yard Shopping centre have an exciting opportunity to join their team of operatives in Gainsborough. The successful candidate will join a hard-working team that ensures the shopping centre is kept to a high standard by keeping the site clean and tidy daily. Marshall’s Yard are seeking a hardworking positive individual to start with immediate effect.

Marshall's Yard is a successful shopping centre with over 30 fantastic stores, a great range of eateries, coffee shops with a landscaped plaza. The centre operates and is open 7 days a week including bank holidays. Events & Markets are delivered monthly at the centre.

An integral pat of the Marshall’s Yard team and reporting to the Centre Management Team you will ensure that the centre is cleaned to an extremely high standard expected within a prestigious shopping centre development and the environment for our shoppers and tenants is kept safe and welcoming at all times.
As part of the personal specification for this role, the individual must be highly driven, flexible and efficient working on their own initiative at all times.
You will carry out regular patrols to ensure the centre is clean and presentable at all times whilst also meeting and greeting customers and ensuring a safe and secure environment for all visitors and staff.
You will remain vigilant at all times and report matters of suspicion to the Centre Management Team straight away.
You will respond promptly in dealing with all health and safety matters including spillages and litter, emergency procedures, first aid and incident management working alongside the Centre Management Team.
You will also ensure all appropriate logs; incident report forms and contractor permits are kept up to date and completed correctly.
Throughout the day you will be responsible for the cleaning of the Yard’s footpaths and its car parks, public restrooms, landscaped areas as well as inside and outside the Pattern Store, Engine House and Britannia House common areas.
‘Back of house’ areas also to be maintained include the service yard, service corridors, waste stores and the arches specifically ensuring the waste and recycling compounds are maintained and all waste refuse collections are up to date and tidy.
Maintenance of areas also includes decorating, general repairs, weeding, watering, removal of algae and moss, grass cutting and planting.
As well as the above it is expected that staff members carry out any other reasonable duty that is asked of you by the Centre Management Team.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out these daily roles to keep standards across the site high. The daily tasks and responsibilities include upkeep and presentation of the centre, clearing of litter, emptying of waste, internal and external cleaning, daily site checks, assistance during events and delivering a high customer service presence.
This role is primarily outdoors and involves manual handling tasks.
A full clean drivers license is desirable.
Experience in a similar role, first aid trained, and customer service skills are desirable. Training opportunities are available to help with professional development.
