Car parking changes announced at Marshall’s Yard

13 June 2016

The team at Marshall’s Yard in Gainsborough have announced changes to the centre’s car parking regime.

From 20th June a new system will operate in the Marshall’s Yard car park with the charges staying exactly the same – 50p for up to two hours and £1 for four hours with a four hour maximum stay.

The 330 space car park will be managed by an Automatic Number Plate Recognition system (ANPR) with customers entering their full registration number into the new pay and display machines when they pay to park at the centre.

The car park is being managed by the parking solutions company Smart Parking.  The move frees up the centre’s staff to focus on their security role as well as delivering high quality customer service for the thousands of visitors who shop at Marshall’s Yard every week and assisting with the regular events hosted at the centre.

Car park charges will apply to all motorists, including blue badge holders; the centre’s car parking tariff hasn’t increased since Marshall’s Yard opened in April 2007.

However, visitors to Marshall's Yard will now be required to pay for parking on Sundays and Bank Holidays - details of the new parking regime can be found on the new signage around the car park and on the Pay and Display machines. A number of improvements are also due to be made in the car park.

The new system also gives customers the flexibility of paying with their mobile phone if they don’t have the right change. Other improvements will also include more parent and child spaces and better CCTV coverage.

M&S customers can obtain a 50p refund for their parking with a valid ticket when they spend over £10. Members at DW Sports will still be able to park for free through a car registration log in system at the gym.

Centre manager, Alison Hall, said: “It’s important that we manage our car park effectively for all our shoppers here at Marshall’s Yard and we’re confident that the new system will meet our customers’ needs.  New signage will be going up around the centre and our staff will be on hand for anyone who needs help with the new system.

"The centre is ten years old next year and we continue to invest in the car park and public areas to keep up the high standards people expect of us here at Marshall's Yard."
