Marshall’s Yard celebrates 15 Years

9 April 2022

Gainsborough retail and leisure destination Marshall’s Yard will be celebrating its 15 year anniversary with an exciting roster of events.

Taking place across Easter weekend (15-17 April), the centre will be inviting customers and their families to come and enjoy the fun with live music, mini cupcakes, birthday decorations and of course selfie opportunities on offer.

In addition to this, the centre will be planting 15 golden Easter eggs, each containing a coveted prize from one of the destination’s many outlets, to be found over the weekend.

Jodie Pacey, Centre Manager at Marshall’s Yard, said: “We can’t wait to kick off our 15th anniversary celebrations and thank our customers for all of their support by inviting them to come and enjoy the birthday festivities.

“Marshall’s Yard continues to grow from strength to strength and with 97% retail occupancy, as well as our fantastic food and leisure offerings, there’s going to be even more reason to celebrate in the coming months as we return to our regular pre-covid calendar of events.”

Before becoming a shopping centre 15 years ago, the site was home to Britannia Ironworks which built steam engines, threshing machines and agricultural machines that were exported all over the world.  During the First World War, the workforce grew to 5,000 to cope with the production of munitions.

Most recently the centre has seen a flurry of new retail and leisure operators joining the scheme including The Range, JYSK and Snap Fitness, while the Yard’s newest restaurant and bar, Caldero Lounge, has become a key hotspot within the town.

A limited amount of workspace remains available to let on the site. This space can be rented for a multitude of uses to complement the businesses already in situ, the businesses include: Sills & Betteridge Solicitors, Kal Group, Marshall’s Yard Physio, Engine House Fitness and Rochell Rose beauty salon.

This year the centre will also return to hosting its annual Marshall’s Tractor Rally celebrating the history of the site as well as its Christmas lights switch on amongst many other mini events within the centre’s stores, bars and restaurants.

Jodie added: “We can’t wait to safely return to hosting our annual events and our birthday celebrations are just the beginning.

“Make sure to come along, enjoy the live music, sample the treats on offer and of course keep your eyes peeled for those golden eggs!”
